Brent Eviston has taught drawing for more than 20 years in museums, galleries art studios and art schools. In 2015 he began teaching drawing and figure drawing online. Brent has had tens of thousands of students in over 180 countries. He is committed to bringing students clear, concise instruction that produces dramatic improvement in his students ability to draw.
SELECTED TEACHING
The Art & Science of Drawing - Brent designed and developed his own online drawing program which is currently a bestselling course on Udemy and Skillshare. Since its launch in 2016 it has enrolled more than 250,000 students in 180 countries. This unique program teaches the fundamentals of master drawing through concise lessons each with a specific project. His student base is growing rapidly with thousands of new enrollments each month.
Artist Network University / F+W Media - Brent was brought to F+W Media's production facilities in Fort Collins, Colorado and Cincinnati, Ohio to develop and film courses on the fundamentals of figure drawing. F+W Media is one of the most prominent producers of art instructional resources in the country.
Evolution Academy for the Arts - Eureka, CA 2015 to 2017 - Master Drawing Instructor with a focus on Figure Drawing and Anatomy at this dynamic atelier style studio that merges traditional art instruction with contemporary and experimental practices.
Extended Education Faculty @ Humboldt State University - Arcata, California 2014 to 2017 - Taught observational drawing through the Osher Lifelong Learning program and utilizing HSU's resources including the Walker Greenhouse, and the Science Departments anatomical collections.
Eureka Studio Arts – Eureka, California 2013 to 2015 - Taught traditional master draftsmanship including figure drawing and human anatomy in this atelier style studio.
Mendocino Art Center – Mendocino, California 2015 – Guest instructor teaching workshops in both traditional and contemporary drawing including a Bone Drawing workshop utilizing human and animal bones including sections of a blue whale skeleton generously loaned by the NOYO Center for Marine Science.
Arcata Arts Institute – Arcata, California 2014 to 2016 - Drawing Instructor and Guest Lecturer focusing on the intersection of traditional and contemporary drawing.
College of the Redwoods – Eureka, California 2013 – Guest Lecturer
Morris Graves Museum of Art – Eureka, California 2012 - Taught the Creativity Academy, a program that introduces teens to the materials and methods of art and design with a focus on creative problem solving.
California Art Education Association - Pasadena, California 2011 - Master Figure Drawing Workshop at the 2011 California Arts Educator’s Conference held in Bakersfield, California.
Bakersfield Museum of Art - Bakersfield, California 2004 - 2011 - Taught Master Draftsmanship, Figure Drawing and Artistic Anatomy as well as numerous, innovative youth programs to underserved populations of the Southern San Joaquin Valley.
